A Note From Charlie

A Note from Charlie:

Charlie Freeman was my first photography teacher at the Art Institute of Dallas.  He took personal interest in my work.  Charlie always knew just the right things to say to empower.  He always said to tell a story and you’re the story teller, make the photograph.  He believed in me.

When Charlie passed away, the loss had a huge impact on all of his students.

One of his assignments, an idea journal, was returned after his passing.  In it was a post it note from Charlie.  My last bit of  advice from Charlie,

“Theresa,
You’re doing all the right things.
Think, dream, plan, execute the image.
Charlie.

I often think of that note when I’m working.  Thank you Charlie.
